terms of-service
Welcome to Honeyverse. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, services, and hive adoption program. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
We reserve the right to update these Terms. We will notify you of any material changes by email and by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. For existing subscribers, material changes will take effect 30 days after notification, giving you time to cancel before they apply.
By creating an account, adopting a hive, making a purchase, or using any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use our services.
Honeyverse offers a hive adoption program that includes:
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services with reasonable advance notice to existing subscribers where practical.
A Honeyverse "hive adoption" is a symbolic adoption of a virtual hive on our virtual community map, paired with a recurring subscription delivering raw Italian honey, personalized jar labels, and adoption certificate.
The "hive" you adopt exists as a digital, named, customizable virtual hive on the Honeyverse map. It is not a physical hive assigned to you for your exclusive use, and you should not interpret your adoption as conferring ownership of, or exclusive rights to, any physical hive, bees, land, equipment, or honey produced at any specific physical apiary.
Adoption does not constitute:
The physical hives in our network — including the Partner Hives in Tuscany — are owned and operated by our partner beekeepers and remain their property at all times.
Honeyverse honey is sourced from beekeepers across Italy and processed through our sourcing partner Medex d.o.o., a Slovenian honey producer (Linhartova cesta 49A, 1000 Ljubljana). Each shipment contains single-region Italian honey, meaning the honey in a given batch comes from one Italian region. The specific region varies by harvest and season.
Honeyverse honey is processed and packaged at a Bureau Veritas IFS Food Higher Level certified facility (certificate number SI013895), and every batch is tested against EU honey standards (Council Directive 2001/110/EC) for moisture content, HMF, diastase activity, electrical conductivity, pollen origin, and microbiological safety.
Honey production, region rotation, and harvest timing depend on natural factors including weather, bee health, flora availability, and seasonal variation. While we make every reasonable effort to ensure consistent quality, single-region sourcing, and on-schedule delivery, we cannot guarantee:
In the event of supply disruption, we will substitute with equivalent-quality single-region Italian honey from our network, communicate the change clearly to affected subscribers, and where practical offer the option to delay shipment.
Honey is a natural, raw product and is not suitable for infants under 12 months of age. Raw honey may contain Clostridium botulinum spores, which can cause infant botulism, a rare but serious illness, in children under one year old. Honey must not be given to any infant under 12 months old, in any form, including as an ingredient in food or drink, or to soothe a pacifier or dummy.
By purchasing from Honeyverse, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this warning. It is the responsibility of the customer and recipient to ensure Honeyverse honey is kept away from, and not consumed by, infants under 12 months of age. Honeyverse honey is intended for general consumption by adults and children over one year old. Honeyverse accepts no liability for harm resulting from honey being given to an infant under 12 months of age contrary to this warning and to established public health guidance.
This guidance reflects the advice of public health authorities, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and equivalent European health authorities. If you have any concern about your child's health, consult a qualified medical professional.
All prices are displayed in the currency specified on our website and are subject to change. Price changes will not affect any active adoption term you have already paid for, and we will provide advance notice before any renewal at a changed price. Prices include applicable taxes where required by law. You are responsible for any additional customs duties, import fees, or taxes that apply to international deliveries, including but not limited to those required under the U.S. Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) and equivalent regulations in your jurisdiction.
Payment is required at the time of adoption. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods displayed at checkout. All payments are processed through third-party payment processors subject to their own terms of service. By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method and that all information provided is accurate.
Honeyverse adoptions are sold as annual subscriptions with shipments delivered according to your selected plan (e.g., 2 shipments per year for Urban Bee, 4 shipments per year for Adopt a Hive and Private Hive).
Automatic renewal: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each annual term at the then-current price for your plan. We will send you a renewal reminder email at least 30 days before your subscription renews, giving you time to cancel, change tiers, or pause if you choose.
Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard or by contacting us at support@honey-verse.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid term — no further charges will be made. You will continue to receive remaining shipments through the end of your current term.
No partial refunds for unused term: We do not issue partial refunds for unused months within a paid term. However, you may pause future shipments or transfer your subscription to another person at no cost (see "Pause and Transfer" below).
You must provide accurate shipping information at the time of purchase and keep it updated in your account. We are not responsible for delays or failed deliveries due to incorrect or incomplete shipping information.
We currently ship only to addresses in the United States. Other European Union regions and the United Kingdom are expected to follow by the end of 2026.
Your first shipment is processed within 30 days of adoption (this includes time required for custom label production, batch testing, and packing). Subsequent shipments are sent according to your plan's schedule. Most deliveries arrive within 7–14 business days after shipping to U.S. addresses, depending on carrier and customs processing.
In the event of a supply disruption — including poor harvests, adverse weather, customs or logistics delays, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control — we reserve the right to postpone a shipment for as long as reasonably necessary. We will notify affected customers of any significant delay and, where possible, offer the option to wait, receive an alternative single-region honey from our network, or pause the affected shipment.
Shipping is a flat $9.90 per shipment. Because each delivery is confirmed individually, the shipping fee is shown and charged in your account dashboard when you confirm and lock in that shipment — not at the time of adoption. The $9.90 covers shipping costs and any applicable duties and import fees, so there is nothing extra to pay on delivery. Our packaging is designed to protect glass jars in transit.
Title and risk of loss for products pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. However, if a shipment arrives damaged or is lost in transit, contact us within 14 days of the original expected delivery date and we will arrange replacement or refund at no additional cost to you, regardless of the strict legal risk-of-loss position.
International shipments may be subject to customs duties, taxes, and import fees, which are the responsibility of the recipient once international shipping becomes available. For U.S. customers, Honeyverse complies with FDA Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements. We are not responsible for customs delays.
Because each jar is custom-labeled with content you provide, individual personalized jars are not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged or defective.
If a jar arrives damaged, leaking, or visibly defective, contact us within 14 days of delivery at support@honey-verse.com with a photo. We will arrange a replacement at no additional cost, or a refund of that shipment's pro-rata value, at your choice.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days from the day you receive your first shipment, in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights. To exercise this right, contact us at support@honey-verse.com within 14 days. Note: This right does not apply to personalized products that have already been produced (i.e., jars already custom-labeled and dispatched), per Article 16(c) of the Directive. We will refund any prepaid amounts for shipments not yet produced.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. See "Account Settings".
You may pause future shipments at any time from your account dashboard. While paused, no further charges will be made and no shipments will be sent. You can resume at any time.
Honeyverse subscriptions may be gifted at the time of purchase (the recipient receives the certificate, the labeled honey, and the virtual hive in their name). You may also transfer an active subscription to another person at no charge — contact us to arrange.
To access the Honeyverse map, dashboard, and other features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it current.
Upon adoption, you are assigned a virtual hive on the Honeyverse map. You may:
Your virtual hive remains active for as long as your subscription is active. If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, your virtual hive may be deactivated, archived, or removed from the public map after a reasonable grace period. We will notify you before any such action.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for material violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, abusive conduct toward our staff or beekeepers, or content violations as described below. Where practical, we will provide warning and an opportunity to cure before termination.
You may personalize your jar labels and your virtual hive name with text of your choice, subject to a 20-character maximum per field. You agree not to submit content that:
We reserve the right to reject or modify any content that violates these guidelines. Where we reject content, we will contact you to request a replacement before producing the jar. You are solely responsible for the content you submit and indemnify Honeyverse against any third-party claims arising from it.
Subscribers are welcome to arrange visits to our Partner Hives in Tuscany, where our partner beekeeper tends the hives. Visits are by appointment only, subject to availability, season, beekeeper schedule, and weather. Visits do not include private access to any "individually assigned" hive, as no physical hive is individually assigned to subscribers. Visitors are guests of our partner beekeeper and must follow all on-site safety instructions, including those regarding bee allergies. Honeyverse is not liable for injury or property loss arising from voluntary participation in a Partner Hive visit, except where prohibited by applicable law.
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, photography, video, the Honeyverse map design, and the visual identity of virtual hives, is the property of Honeyverse or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and related intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, scrape, or create derivative works from any content without our express written permission. We do not warrant that:
We do warrant that our honey is fit for human consumption, processed at an IFS Food certified facility, and complies with applicable EU food safety regulations and U.S. FDA requirements for honey imports. This warranty is not affected by anything else in this section.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Honeyverse and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in this section limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Honeyverse and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) content you submit (jar labels, virtual hive names, photos, account information); (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your infringement of any third party's rights; (d) your unlawful or negligent use of our services.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Slovenia, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
For EU consumers, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
Dispute Resolution: We aim to resolve any dispute amicably. Please contact us first at legal@honey-verse.com. If we cannot resolve the matter within 30 days, EU consumers may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform (https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr). For other consumers, disputes will be resolved through the courts of the governing jurisdiction or through binding arbitration where required by law.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect, and the invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Honeyverse regarding your use of our services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
